Capt(Navy) G.A. Gebru served as master mariner before joining the Ethiopian Maritime Authority. He now discharges flag state responsibilities, and represents his country at the IMO committee sessions. He also contributed to regional maritime security and capacity building through his involvement with the Djibouti Code of Conduct/Jeddah Amendment as former chair of the capacity building coordination working group. He currently serves as the subcommittee chair for security of ports and vessels.
