V Adm E. Ikechukwu

Vice Admiral Emmanuel Ikechukwu Ogalla, born on 20 December 1968 in Enugu State, currently serves as the Chief of Naval Staff (CNS) of the Nigerian Navy. A distinguished graduate of the Nigerian Defence Academy, he earned a BSc in Mathematics and was awarded the prestigious Sword of Honour as the top graduating naval cadet. His extensive training includes courses in hydrography, strategic studies, and staff training both locally and internationally. Admiral Ogalla has held key leadership positions throughout his career, such as Commandant of the Nigerian Navy Hydrographic School and Director of Lessons Learnt at Naval Headquarters, where he helped enhance naval operational standards. He also served as Base Operations Officer at NNS PATHFINDER, where he was instrumental in combatting oil theft and economic crimes. A highly decorated officer, he has received the Distinguished Service Star, Grand Service Star, and Admiralty Medal. He is a fellow of the National Defence College and the Occupational Safety and Health Association UK.
